CBS News, citing multiple sources, reports the US and Israel are planning one of
the most intense bombing campaigns yet against Iranian energy infrastructure,
with potential targets including power plants and refineries and operations
possibly continuing through the weekend. Israel has been notified and is
coordinating with Washington, but President Trump has not given final approval.
Some White House political aids strongly oppose the plan, warning it could
shock the US and global economies. US officials have discussed cutting Tehran’s
power supply but have not decided. Trump previously said the US would bomb an
Iranian bridge or power plant in response to each attack on ships in the Strait
of Hormuz. If executed, the strikes would signal Israel resuming operations that
were paused under a US-mediated ceasefire.
