Russian Defense Ministry said between the night of July 31 and early August 1
local time its forces used land- and sea-based long-range precision weapons and
long-range attack drones to strike Ukrainian military-industrial plants and
logistics centers in Kyiv city and Kyiv region. The ministry said the struck
facilities were used to produce, store and transport missiles, drones, radar
systems and electronic-warfare equipment. Early on August 1 Kyiv registered
multiple large explosions; Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko said Russian forces were
launching ballistic missile strikes on the capital, causing casualties.
