Security policy and defense analyst Wolfgang Pustaj stated that the United States absolutely cannot end the threat to ships in the Strait of Hormuz and the North Arabian Sea. All they can do is limit the number of attacks by targeting Iranian assets used to attack these ships. What we are seeing now is a US strategy of alternating between firm and lenient approaches. Whenever Iran attacks ships in the region, the US responds with strong strikes.
