On Aug 2 local time, Spain’s government representative in Ceuta, Perez Triano, said a recent mass illegal migrant crossing into the Spanish enclave has left 72 people dead. Authorities will accelerate processing of recently arrived migrants’ paperwork to try to repatriate them to Morocco as soon as possible. Ceuta’s situation is gradually returning to normal; Spanish military and security forces continue patrols and checks to ensure remaining irregular migrants are removed.
