Israel told the White House it has serious security concerns about a Hamas
disarmament agreement. The Israeli prime minister’s office said intelligence
assessments indicate Hamas plans to rebuild military capabilities rather than
genuinely demilitarize. Israel said it will not withdraw from most of Gaza until
Hamas completes disarmament. Hamas said it will begin disarming under Trump’s
20-point ceasefire plan, which calls for surrendering weapons and destroying
tunnels and envisages Israeli withdrawal, a new technocratic Palestinian
government and international security forces. A large-scale Israeli troop
pullback before October elections is unlikely.
