Semafor reports Senators Collins and Murray circulated a continuing resolution
that would fund the U.S. government through Dec. 11 and blocks an Office of
Management and Budget (OMB) proposed rule that would allow the administration to
rescind federal grants to states, including so-called blue states. Collins said
the bill "prevents the OMB proposed rule on federal financial assistance from
taking effect." Murray said the CR "prevents implementation of this corrupt new
OMB grants rule during the continuing resolution," adding the proposal would
systemically politicize federal funds and allow Trump administration officials
to cancel grants "at any time for any reason."
