Tokyo and Seoul opened sharply lower on Monday, Aug 3: Japan's Nikkei 225 opened down 659.27 points, or 1.02%, at 63,702.75; South Korea's KOSPI opened down 217.22 points, or 3.29%, at 6,378.23. SK Hynix fell 4% and Samsung Electronics fell 5%.
