CGN’s Taipingling Unit 2 entered commercial operation, completing phase I of the
Greater Bay Area’s first Hualong One deployment. The 1,200 MW unit uses China’s
domestically developed Gen‑III Hualong One technology with core equipment
localization above 90%. Taipingling is planned as a six‑unit Hualong One
complex; at full build‑out it is expected to supply about 55 bln kWh/year,
displace roughly 16.52 mln tonnes of standard coal and cut CO2 emissions by
about 50.82 mln tons annually.
