Sustained hot, humid weather pushed Tianjin power grid peak load to 20.949 GW at
13:32 on Aug. 3, the first exceedance of 20 GW and a new record — up 1.579 GW
(8.15%) from last year’s peak of 19.37 GW. Tianjin power authorities have
deployed precise load forecasting, dynamically optimized grid operations,
expanded interprovincial power purchases to increase external inflows,
coordinated local generation to keep conventional units running at full stable
output, and are rolling-monitoring renewables and strengthening plant operations
and grid services to boost reliable renewable output during peak periods.
