CIMC Group said its container division posted YoY declines in Q1 revenue and net
profit as both volumes and prices fell. Since Q2, a concurrent recovery in
freight rates and demand has transmitted to container manufacturing, lifting
industry demand and leaving production booked through end-October. For the year
the segment remains under pressure versus last year due to a high base and
rising material costs. CIMC said emerging businesses—container energy storage,
Modular buildings, cold chain and modular data centers—are being actively
deployed and developing rapidly and will provide material incremental
contributions to the segment.
