The Baltic Dry Index (BDI) rose 111 points, or 4.1%, to 2,843 — its highest
since July 15 — as freight rates advanced across all vessel classes. The
Capesize index (BCI) gained 268 points, or 6.2%, to 4,564; capesize daily
earnings rose $2,435 to $37,892. The Panamax index (BPI) climbed 48 points, or
2.3%, to 2,135 — its highest since July 21 — with panamax daily earnings up $432
to $19,212. The Supramax index (BSI) ticked up 1 point to 1,610. The Handysize
index (BHSI) fell 3 points to 884.
