On Monday morning US trade, Amazon (AMZN.O) shares rose as much as 5.3%,
extending last week’s rally after Q2 results showed accelerating cloud revenue
growth. The move pushed Amazon’s market value above $3 trillion, joining NVIDIA,
Alphabet, Microsoft and Apple as the fifth company to reach that threshold. Last
week the stock jumped more than 15%—its biggest single-day gain in over 14
years—after AWS reported its strongest revenue growth since 2021, adding roughly
$400 billion to market value; the shares had fallen about 18% from the May 6
record high to a three-month low before the rebound, making Amazon the
best-performing member of the Magnificent Seven year-to-date.
