Court filings show 25 U.S. states, led by Democrats, sued the U.S. government to
block the administration’s latest tariffs on goods from 60 trading partners. The
states allege the president exceeded statutory authority, that the tariffs are
an unlawful, overly broad substitute for measures the U.S. Supreme Court struck
down, and that the move circumvents required country-specific investigation
procedures.
