Aug 4 — A-shares tied to co‑packaged optics (CPO) and hardware compute rallied sharply. Multiple names hit daily limits, including Yongding and Dongshan Precision; Tianfu Communication, Zhongji Xuchuang and Xinyisheng rose over 11%. The ChiNext index jumped more than 5% in the afternoon and a CPO-heavy communications ETF gained over 8%. NVIDIA senior VP Gilad Shainer said CPO has entered volume production and flagged vertical scale‑up as the largest future market opportunity for optical communications, with required bandwidth efficiency about ten times that of horizontal scale‑out. Separately, Phoenix cited Nikkei Asia reporting that AI-driven memory shortages have prompted HP, ASUS and Acer to start using small volumes of CXMT memory chips; the report pushed CXMT shares to reverse earlier losses and surge in the afternoon.
