South Korea’s trade minister Kim Jung-kwan said the government will reassess
joining the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans‑Pacific
Partnership (CPTPP) to open new markets including ASEAN and Mexico and to
accelerate exports of cultural content and consumer goods. The review will
include consultations with stakeholders, notably the agricultural sector and the
National Assembly; the ministry listed “expanding the economic map” as a core H2
policy objective.
