Japan's Nikkei 225 closed up 202.63 points (+0.32%) at 63,957.53 on Aug. 4; Kioxia rose more than 4%. South Korea's KOSPI closed up 101.50 points (+1.62%) at 6,358.95 after trading more than 2% lower intraday. The KOSDAQ jumped 5.88%, its third straight session of gains, and triggered a buy-side algorithmic trading pause. SK Hynix gained 0.63% and Samsung Electronics rose 0.20%.
