Treasury Secretary Bessent told CNBC Fed chair Kevin Warsh wants to preserve
policy flexibility to secure the best outcome and that each FOMC meeting should
be judged in real time. He said the Fed will balance growth and inflation
objectives. Excluding energy-affected components, price measures have been very
stable, underlying inflation readings are muted and expected to remain so, and
Bessent added that core inflation is slowing.
