Italian media reported on the 4th that Lebanon and Israel began a new round of
US-mediated security talks in Rome at the US embassy, scheduled for three days
to implement an end‑June Washington framework on border security. European
outlets said negotiations focus on an Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon,
unresolved boundary disputes and HEZBOLLAH disarmament; both sides sent
technical delegations.
