Statistics Indonesia reported Q2 GDP rose 5.29% YoY, above economists’ median forecast of 5.14% but below Q1’s 5.61%. Strong household consumption and investment underpinned growth amid a challenging external backdrop. Statistics Indonesia deputy head Edi Mahmud said all sectors except mining expanded. Manufacturing, agriculture, trade, construction and mining together account for 64% of GDP. The rupiah strengthened about 0.6%, while Indonesian equities and 10-year government bonds held earlier gains.
