Korean IT outlet Digital Daily reports Apple sought cuts to LPDDR5X and other
mobile DRAM prices for next‑generation iPhones and smart devices, but China’s
CXMT rejected the request, saying its quotes will not fall below Samsung and SK
Hynix. CXMT’s stance reflects capacity locked by long‑term, high‑price contracts
with Huawei and Xiaomi, removing the need to concede to Apple. At the same time
Samsung and SK Hynix are reallocating capacity to higher‑value AI/storage
products — HBM4, LPCAMM2 and enterprise SSDs — tightening supply of
general‑purpose DRAM and supporting price rises; CXMT’s refusal adds further
upward pressure on commodity DRAM prices.
