Heavy rain caused severe flooding across Shaanxi. On Aug 5 the National Disaster
Reduction and Relief Committee activated a national-level four emergency
response. Citing the national natural disaster relief emergency plan and
provincial damage assessments, China State Planner has urgently allocated 50 mln
yuan of central-budget investment to support post-flood emergency recovery in
Shaanxi, prioritizing repair of damaged roads, water‑conservancy infrastructure
and restoration of public services including schools and hospitals to expedite
resumption of normal production and living order.
