CITIC Securities says AI-driven acceleration since 2023 is prompting rapid optical-module tech upgrades—higher chip rates, silicon-photonics integration and CPO architectures—driving iteration in optical-module test equipment. Combined with fast expansion of AI compute infrastructure, this is lifting both volumes and prices for test equipment. International suppliers retain a lead in the 1.6T high-end segment, but Chinese firms are accelerating and narrowing the gap; CITIC is positive on long-term growth in China’s optical-module sector and on high-end test-equipment localization.
