According to Reuters, an official decree shows that the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has banned the export of copper and cobalt concentrates. Under a new tax system, the country will tax mining byproducts of significant economic value using a 55% valuation coefficient. The new tax framework will take effect in three months, but mining companies must begin declaring byproducts in their exports immediately.
