Israeli administrative detention of Palestinian minors rose sharply over the
past year, with the number held under administrative orders climbing from 103 in
January 2025 to 191 in March 2026, an Israeli parents’ group opposing child
detention said, citing Israeli Prison Service data. Minors held under
administrative detention for more than one year increased from six in March 2025
to 50 in March 2026. The group said administrative detention has become the
primary method of holding Palestinian minors, with the share under
administrative orders rising from about one-third in early 2025 to nearly half
by March 2026.
