Axios reports President Trump will sign two executive orders on Thursday aimed
at denying U.S. citizenship to some children born in the United States through
commercial "birth tourism". He also seeks to remove birthright citizenship for
children of some foreign diplomats working in the U.S., and may later extend the
policy to U.S. territories. The move, Trump’s second attempt to curb birthright
citizenship, is expected to face legal challenges; critics say it conflicts with
the 14th Amendment. U.S. law already bars tourist visas primarily intended for
childbirth, and immigration officers can deny entry to pregnant visitors judged
to intend giving birth in the U.S.
