China's National Energy Administration issued the '15th Five-Year' action plan
for power safety production, directing stronger AI+ safety governance,
high-precision fault prediction and equipment health-management methods, and
integration of AI into smart safety tools. It calls for research on AI
large-model-based safety production decision support. The plan mandates
increased domestic R&D of critical power equipment, accelerated development of
new protective materials, and a special program to tackle core components
technologies to drive breakthroughs in power chips and ultra-high-voltage (UHV)
components. It also pushes safety and quality-control technology innovation for
power construction, the creation of an intelligent project supervision system,
and enhanced off-site monitoring and quality supervision of major power projects
using AI and big data.
