The Shanghai Meteorological Observatory issued a blue typhoon warning at 16:00
on August 7, 2026. The 13th typhoon of the year, White Dolphin, is expected to
bring gusts of force 8 across most of Shanghai from the morning of August 8,
with gusts up to force 9 in high-rise and riverside/coastal areas. Shanghai's
flood control headquarters has activated a citywide Level IV flood/typhoon
response.
