Senior Israeli security sources said three advisers to Prime Minister Netanyahu
are suspected of leaking classified, high-level discussions about Egypt to
Qatar. The sources said the leaked material — drawn from Israeli military and
intelligence assessments between March and May 2024 on whether Egyptian
deployments in the Sinai violate the Israel‑Egypt peace treaty — was used by
Qatar in media campaigns to discredit Egypt and to shift public pressure and
leverage over mediation, reportedly to gain control of negotiations on the
release of detainees in Gaza.
