According to Israel's Channel 12, Nikolai Mladenov, the senior representative of the Gaza Peace Committee, discussed the roadmap for Gaza disarmament and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops in an interview. This came shortly after Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu announced Israel's rejection of the "15-point plan." Mladenov clarified that Israel will not be required to withdraw its troops before Gaza is substantially disarmed. The withdrawal will be carried out zone by zone, and only after weapons and tunnels in a given area have been disarmed. He emphasized that if Hamas fails to fulfill its commitments, the process will immediately cease. Mladenov explained that the "roadmap" is a document signed between the Peace Committee and Hamas, and the plan aims to "ensure that Gaza no longer poses a threat to Israel's security and that the events of October 7th are not repeated." Mladenov pointed out that the plan goes beyond disarmament—Hamas must also transfer weapons and responsibility for governing Gaza (including tunnels, infrastructure, etc.) to achieve lasting peace between Gaza and Israel. He also revealed that Hamas has agreed to "immediately cease all military operations." Based on this, the Peace Committee asked Israel to give the process a chance, and stated that "consultations are still ongoing and we hope to achieve positive results."
