NBS Beijing survey team on Aug 10 said July Beijing CPI rose 0.2% MoM (June
-0.4%) and rose 0.2% YoY, a 0.5 ppt slowdown from June. Food prices fell 0.6%
MoM, a 0.6 ppt narrower decline than last month. By item: seasonal fruit supply
pushed fresh fruit down 4.0%; eggs fell 1.7% on ample supply; pork rose early in
the month then eased but ended up 5.1% for July; fresh vegetables rose 0.9% amid
heavy rain in key producing areas. Food prices were down 2.6% YoY, subtracting
roughly 0.33 ppt from headline CPI.
