Beijing flood-control office said the city meteorological observatory issued an
orange heavy-rain warning on the morning of Aug 10; heavy to very heavy rain is
forecast from the evening of Aug 11 through daytime Aug 13. The city plans to
activate a citywide Level-2 flood emergency response on the morning of Aug 11.
Authorities advised monitoring local forecasts, following flood-control
instructions, taking precautionary measures, avoiding flooded roads, and staying
away from rivers, low-lying and landslide-prone areas; do not enter mountainous
areas.
