A-shares ended mixed after intraday swings. Shanghai Composite rose 0.67%,
Shenzhen Composite up 0.04% and the ChiNext Index down 0.73%. Turnover on the
two exchanges exceeded 2.5 trillion yuan and more than 3,800 stocks advanced.
Markets weakened in the morning and sold off after lunch—ChiNext fell over 2.5%
at one point—before a broad late recovery that left Shenzhen marginally
positive. Sector action: livestock and defense led gains, specialty metals
active, cinema chains rallied in the afternoon, innovative pharmaceuticals
pulled back after earlier strength; CPO and advanced packaging remained under
pressure all day, and components were weak.
