Iranian foreign ministry spokesman, responding to the Mecca defense pact, said
regional states over the past three years have realized security is not a
commodity to be bought from fraudulent middlemen. He said any plan grounded in
reality and correctly identified enemies and threats would help maintain
regional security and prevent Israel from creating turmoil.
