Democratic U.S. Senator Chris Murphy said in an Aug. 9 interview the U.S. has
"essentially lost the war" with Iran and urgently needs to end hostilities and
restore navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. He warned each day of delay
makes the U.S. weaker and Iran stronger, and said that although any near-term
deal would be "very unfavorable" and amount to a "major victory" for Iran, the
U.S. must accept it and withdraw as soon as possible.
