Security policy and defense analyst Wolfgang Pustätt stated that the defense agreement signed by Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan currently "remains only on paper." He pointed out that no Pakistani or Turkish troops have been deployed to Saudi Arabia following the recent Houthi attacks. He also mentioned that Turkey has not taken any substantial action in response to Iran's missile attacks against Gulf states, including Saudi Arabia. Pustätt stressed that such a joint defense agreement will be difficult to implement if there are no actual troops stationed among the three countries, or if Pakistani and Turkish soldiers are not affected by the attacks on Saudi Arabia.
