June 3 peak as weaker capesize rates offset panamax gains. The capesize index
(BCI) dropped 23 points, or 0.5%, to 5,105; capesize daily earnings fell $212 to
$42,797. The panamax index (BPI) rose 8 points, or 0.4%, to 2,306, marking the
highest level since June 2; panamax daily earnings gained $71 to $20,755. The
supramax index (BSI) was steady at 1,603. The handysize index (BHSI) slipped 2
points to 872.
