Insiders told foreign media Apple still plans a glass‑centric redesign for its
20th‑anniversary iPhone, contradicting analyst reports that the project was
scrapped. Apple expects to launch next year (2027) an iPhone Pro with a new
glass exterior on both front and back that curves to the sides with a metal
midframe; internal codenames are V73 and V74. A more radical, near‑all‑glass
variant was abandoned in early development after engineers could not meet
mass‑production requirements for joining the glass panels.
