Iranian political analyst Hossein Ruyvaran stated that the outcome of the Strait of Hormuz standoff will depend on which side has greater endurance. He pointed out that the current situation is a contest between "closing the Strait" and "blockading Iran," with the key question being "who cries out in pain first." Ruyvaran stated that the United States is suffering from rising oil prices, inflation, and a rising cost of living, and its society is deeply dissatisfied with the war and its consequences. Iran is also facing pressure, but its society views the war as an imposed act of defense with no other choice, and therefore can endure it more. He believes Iran can hold out longer and warned that if the current US president cannot find a solution, this war will cost the Republican Party in the election. Ruyvaran also denied US reports of shortages of supplies in Iran, stating that Iranian Caspian ports are actively meeting domestic demand and there is no shortage of goods in the market. He emphasized that a country with 7,000 kilometers of land border and 3,000 kilometers of coastline cannot be truly blocked.
