Qatar's foreign ministry spokesman said talks between Oman and Iran have entered
an "advanced stage", that Doha has received positive feedback from both sides
and the negotiations are at a critical point. As mediator, Qatar said it
supports all de‑escalation efforts, wants the Strait of Hormuz reopened as soon as possible
as possible, and backs any measures that ensure the strait's security and
freedom of navigation and prevent its use as a tool of political coercion.
