ANTHROPIC said on Aug 11 it has signed the EU AI Act Article 50 guidelines on
AI-generated content transparency. Effective Aug 2, Claude models will embed an
invisible watermark in generated text; images and other files will carry
digitally signed provenance metadata. The marking will cover all major Claude
products and access channels — Claude Platform (API), Claude, Claude Code,
Claude Cowork and Claude Tag — and apply to cloud partners including AWS, Google
Cloud and Microsoft Foundry. ANTHROPIC said the scheme will be implemented
globally across all Claude product lines and partner cloud platforms, not
limited to the EU.
