Shares of South Korean chipmakers jumped after Asia Business Daily reported
Temasek is planning equity investments in Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix; both
rallied more than 8% intraday and the KOSPI rose about 5%. The report said
Temasek Holdings is weighing timing and intends to invest directly via its
in‑house investment team. The names were sharply sold in July amid doubts over
the pace of AI infrastructure build-out and deleveraging of leveraged positions;
they have recently recovered as market attention shifts to planned
shareholder-return measures.
