Microsoft is reported to have raised Windows 11 licensing fees by roughly 7–10%,
a larger increase than in prior years, with higher fees for devices using
higher-end CPUs. The move adds to cost pressure on the consumer electronics
sector already affected by semiconductor shortages. PC makers Asus and Acer plan
about 5% retail price increases later this year; Asus’s average product price is
up roughly 30% since 2025 Q4.
