The National Financial Regulatory Administration said after Typhoon White
Dolphin made landfall it instructed insurers to open green channels, provide
proactive on-site service, expedite valid payouts and make reasonable
prepayments, and to coordinate with local governments on warnings, rescue and
claims handling. As of 15:00 on Aug. 12, insurers in Zhejiang, Shanghai,
Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Anhui and Henan reported nearly 130,000 claims, with estimated
losses of 1.75 bln yuan and paid (including prepayments) 80 mln yuan.
