Chinalco said Yunnan Aluminum Co. completed quality testing on 19mm-diameter,
2-ton single-coil large-section aluminum round bar and has shipped the product
to an energy-storage battery plant in the Yangtze River Delta. The firm is the
first domestic producer to use continuous casting and rolling to supply
large-section round bar at scale to the energy-storage sector, representing
import substitution and entry into stable mass production.
