On the 13th an adviser to Iran's supreme leader posted on social media that if
Iran's conditions are not met the supreme leader has made a strategic decision
to respond by escalating the conflict. He said recent events show the United
States lack the ability to protect its Persian Gulf allies and advance
the "Hormuz Economic Security Mechanism" as the most durable path to a new
regional order and to reduce reliance on U.S. military guarantees.
