The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is further investigating whether this incident shares any similarities with similar incidents such as the Southwest Airlines engine failure in 2018. Previous inspection records show that the engine underwent routine maintenance in May of this year, at which time no abnormalities were found.
