China's SMIC said Q2 wafer shipments rose 14.4% QoQ and wafer average selling price increased 5.7% QoQ, lifting single-quarter revenue above $3bn and delivering strong YoY and QoQ gains across core operating metrics; SMIC attributed shipment growth to AI-driven demand for supporting chips and customers pull‑ins. The company added capacity equivalent to 8,000 12‑inch wafers per month in the quarter; capacity utilization was 93.7%, up 0.6 ppt QoQ.
