Jared Kushner, U.S. President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and Middle East peace
envoy, will visit Israel next week to discuss Gaza, a U.S. official said. The
trip is part of a renewed U.S. push to advance a long-delayed peace plan after
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu rejected a 15-point roadmap issued late last
month. The roadmap proposed disarming Hamas, transferring Gaza administration to
a new Palestinian government and withdrawal of Israeli forces. The U.S. and
Israel has agreed on target outcomes for Gaza and will continue cooperation;
Kushner may also visit other regional partners to discuss the plan.
