Zhang Zhenxi is a leading candidate to replace outgoing press secretary Karoline
Leavitt. Zhang, a California native, previously worked for then‑Governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger. Press secretaries are often promoted from inside the White House
communications team. As of the afternoon of Aug. 12, prediction market Kalshi
put Zhang’s probability of succeeding Leavitt at 13%.
