According to Iran's Press TV, the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that Iran, through successful offensive and defensive operations under heavy artillery fire, has subdued "the most powerfully armed army in world history." Major General Ahmed Vahidi issued a statement on Saturday thanking the armed forces for waging an "unprecedented holy war" over the past six months. He stated that the performance of the Iranian army against "the most bloodthirsty enemy in human history" has shocked the world and rekindled the hope that the oppressed will ultimately triumph over global powers.
